BEE KEEPING
Due to the extremely poor economic situation in our city (according to some unofficial estimates, about 60% unemployment), as well as unemployment in our church community, Sylvia and Dario have started a beekeeping project.
Dear brothers and sisters,
hope you are all doing well.
Well, today one brother from church and I left to city of Derventa on our apiary to work with bees and to prepare them for winter time. The whole day was good and we did a lot of job and we were ready to go home. But I noticed that something strange was going on on apiary with one bee hive. When I stood there and looked at that beehive, I noticed that other bees were attacking that beehive (so colled bee robbery). I ran there, took a smoker and spent more then 30 min trying to stop those bees from killing that bee colony.
While I was doing that, I heard a strange sound. It was a sunny day but some clouds came at that time and I thought that I was hearing rain drops. But then suddenly I saw big smoke and heard how fire was consuming dry grass and small trees. The brother who was with me ran to check if some of the villagers may be making fire to burn the old grass, but no one was there and the fire got wild.
We immidiately called police and firemen. It took a pretty long time until the firemen came, but when they did, they put out the fire. The fire was just 20 meters from our beehives and the whole property, and if we'd gone home earlier as we thought, the whole property would have been burned. But that bee robbery that happened and the death of one hive kept us at the property so that we could see that fire.
